approximately 25 year old Common, or Spectacled Caiman.
He made a long trip from Berkley California where he was kept as a pet to
Croc Encounters in Tampa, FL. The captain was loved and cared for by his
previous owners. He was kept in a large indoor enclosure and allowed to
watch television! His owners cared so much for him that they made every
provision to ensure he made a safe and comfortable trip down to Florida.
He now shares an exhibit with four other caiman and appears to enjoy his
new pond buddies. Captain Jack loves feeding time. The captain even
gained publicity when his picture appeared in the Tampa Tribune in an
article about Croc Encounters on June 21, 2007.
